If you haven’t been tuning in to Serie A this season, you are missing out on one of the most exciting developments for our future.
Over the weekend, Como might have blown a 2-0 lead to fall short in a furious clash against title-favorites Inter Milan, but the real headline wasn’t the final scoreline. It was the scintillating, unplayable performance of our very own La Fábrica product: Nico Paz.
Facing one of the elite defenses in European football, Paz didn’t just hold his own—he ran the show. He proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Santiago Bernabéu stage won’t be too big for him next season.
The Inter Milan Masterclass
Cesc Fabregas has built a brilliant project at Como, and Paz is the undisputed crown jewel. Against Inter, the young Argentine was electric, putting the entire league on notice that he is arguably the best overall player in Italy right now.
Here is exactly how Paz dismantled the Nerazzurri:
- The Opener: He created the first goal out of absolutely nothing. An insane bit of close-control skill allowed him to generate space and fire a shot that forced a desperate save from Yann Sommer, leading directly to the tap-in.
- The Finish: Minutes later, he got his own name on the scoresheet, beating Sommer with a remarkably precise, curled finish right along the turf to give Como their 2-0 lead.
- The Penalty: Never taking his foot off the gas, Paz’s relentless dribbling inside the box drew the penalty for Como’s third goal.
- The Late Push: Even in the dying minutes, as his teammates ran out of steam, Paz was whipping in dangerous crosses that nearly salvaged an equalizer for the home side.
Offering What Others Can’t
We all know Real Madrid is blessed with incredible creative talent. We have Arda Guler slicing defenses open with his passing, and the club recently invested heavily in Franco Mastantuono. But Nico Paz offers a profile that is distinctly different.
What separates Paz from our current crop of young playmakers is his sheer 1-v-1 dominance. His ability to beat his man directly off the dribble allows him to artificially create scoring chances out of thin air, both for himself and his teammates. Frankly, watching him casually terrorize Inter Milan makes you wonder if the hefty fee spent on his countryman Mastantuono was even necessary when we already had a superior talent in our ranks.
Florentino’s Masterstroke
There was never a scenario where Real Madrid simply “missed out” on Nico Paz. The club always knew his ceiling.
Selling him to Como was a calculated, brilliant piece of business by Florentino Perez. It allowed Paz to become the focal point of a team, playing 90 minutes every week under the guidance of a legendary midfielder like Fabregas. The results speak for themselves.
Real Madrid holds all the cards regarding his future, and reports across Spain suggest the decision has already been made. Nico Paz has passed the ultimate test. He dominated the best team in Italy, and next season, he’s coming home to do it in the famous white shirt.
