Real Madrid have twisted the knife into city rivals Atlético Madrid once again, officially securing the signing of highly-rated 20-year-old attacker Jorge Rajado. The versatile wide player, who operates primarily on the left wing, departed the Rojiblancos after his contract was mutually terminated — ending a decade-long association with Atlético’s academy that began back in 2016.
Rajado had long been viewed as one of the standout young talents coming through the Atlético system, making his departure all the more painful for the red-and-white half of the capital. According to journalist Álvaro Esteban, the Spaniard has now put pen to paper with Los Blancos and will link up with Real Madrid’s C team.
It is not the first time Madrid have raided their neighbours for academy talent, and Madridistas will be hoping Rajado’s move across town proves to be another sharp piece of business in the long run.
